The Tavern Returns to Historic Richmond Town!

Historic Richmond Town is starting 2020 with a big win! The nearly 200 year old historic Guyon Tavern building, which was damaged by a car accident in 2017, has been recently restored and is open to the public! It is thanks to the tireless efforts of our community, staff and supporters that programs such as The Tavern Terrace Series, the Guyon Tavern Benefit Concert and more have successfully raised the necessary funds to restore the building to its former glory.

With the return of the tavern comes a beloved program: Tavern Concerts! The indoor winter concert series will take place in the newly restored Guyon Tavern. The Tavern boasts the feeling of a 19th century tavern with a wood-burning stove, candlelight and costumed interpreters. The season will kick-off January 11th with a favorite headliner, featuring the folksy sounds of local Staten Island favorite- Bob Conroy and Norm Pederson! Beverage options include hot apple cider, homemade mulled wine, as well as a refreshing selection of beers.

The Tavern is also accesible through guided tours, available Wednesday-Sunday. More information on tour times and admission here.

More about the Guyon Tavern: Built around 1819, the Guyon Tavern has served the village of Richmond as several family-owned businesses, most recently Puntillo’s Barber Shop. Operated by the Staten Island Historical Society (Historic Richmond Town) since 1953, this historic structure has undergone two previous restorations and has been used as an educational tool for school and public programs.
