Christmas in Richmond Town

A nostalgic family favorite for decades, Christmas in Richmond Town returns just in time to ring in the season! Visit New York City’s most complete historic village all dressed up for Christmas! Take an old-fashioned carriage ride down historic Center Street and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of winter in the country. Partake in warm apple cider and hot mulled wine as a classic bell choir fills your heart with comfort and joy!

No Christmas program would be complete without a visit with Santa. Santa Claus and his helpers will spend time in the beautifully-decorated Stephens house directly across from the Visitor Center. Stop by the Third County Courthouse where the Women’s Auxiliary hosts the much-loved Christmas fair. There, browse unique,
handmade gifts sure to delight family and friends. Visit stunningly appointed historic homes with interiors furnished for Christmas in the days of yore.

Christmas in Richmond Town will include immersive living history experiences and tactile activities sure to interest and excite all members of the family! Peruse the shelves of a real 19th century General Store and create vintage-style popcorn garland to take home. Warm yourself by a roaring fire and make traditional gingerbread boys! Visit a working tinsmith shop and bring back authentic bundles of tinsel to decorate your hearth and home. Nothing says Season’s Greetings quite like a model train display!

The Historical Museum will showcase dozens of miniature winter-scenes complete with skillfully hand-painted olde-time trains. End the night in the beautiful Barton yard for Historic Richmond Town’s annual tree lighting ceremony!
