Winter in Historic Richmond Town: Programs & Events December 2021-February 2022

Staten Island, New York: Winter in Historic Richmond town continues with special programming all season long, December 2021-February 2022. As the chilly weather continues to bluster over Staten Island, Historic Richmond Town is transforming into a winter wonderland. The grounds are the perfect setting for a brisk walk in the frosty air, and the charming Historic Village and indoor programming are a welcome reprieve to warm up beside a cozy hearth.

The Visitor Center and Historical Museum are open Friday-Sunday, 12-5pm, with guided tours offered from 12-3pm. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for all visitors ages 5 and up. Email info@historicrichmondtown.org for more information.

From January 18 - February 13, enjoy two-for-one admission to our Historical Museum, open 12-5pm Friday-Sunday, as well as some of the City’s top museums, tours, entertainment and cultural destinations during NYC Must-See Week. Tickets now on sale. Purchase tickets at nycgo.com.

Our latest exhibition, “Art Inspired by the Collection,” open now through March 6, features original works by artist Ann Marie McDonnell that are displayed alongside objects and art in Historic Richmond Town’s current exhibitions. This exhibition is made possible (in part) by a DCA Art Fund Grant from Staten Island Arts, with public funding from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.

The season’s public programming continues off the success of our beloved holiday favorite, Candlelight Tours, with our Tavern Concerts series returning after a nearly two-year pandemic hiatus. This indoor winter concert series runs every Saturday night (performances at 6 & 8pm) from January-April in the newly restored Guyon Tavern, located on Richmond Road. The Tavern boasts a wood-burning stove, flickering candles, live music and the true feel of a 19th century saloon. Beverage options harken back to the period and include hot spiced apple cider, scratch made mulled wine, as well as a refreshing selection of beers. Tickets are $18.

Visitors can stave off the winter doldrums with our Cabin Fever Reliever Workshops: Candle Making (January 15 & 22; $10 per person, 3and under FREE) Paper Making (February 12 & 13, $10 per person), and Paper Marbling on February 19 & 20.

Capacity limitations and COVID-19 regulations for each program apply to ensure the safety of all visitors and staff. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is required for all visitors ages 5 and up for any program with full or partial indoor participation.
