Historic Richmond Town Welcomes New Board Member, Tara Harrison

Staten Island, New York: On October 29, 2020 Historic Richmond Town welcomed Tara Harrison to its Board of Directors. Ms. Harrison joins the board with an MS degree in Historic Preservation from the University of Vermont and has worked for the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission in both the Preservation (regulatory) and Research departments. A lifelong Islander, she is very interested in Staten Island history, especially that of the built environment, and has witnessed the changes that Staten Island has endured over the past 40 years. Her experience also includes serving as a board member of the Preservation League of Staten Island.
 
Ms. Harrison noted, "I am excited to join the board of directors and anticipate my knowledge of historic preservation will further the mission of Historic Richmond Town."

Tara Harrison’s expertise and commitment to Island history brings a powerful compliment to the existing leadership of Historic Richmond Town. Jessica B. Phillips, Executive Director & CEO added, "With over 40 historic structures including some of the oldest in New York State, we are thrilled with Tara's capacity, skills and experience as we navigate the challenges of the stewardship of Staten Island's precious historic structures."
