Historic Richmond Town Shares the Love!

Love is in the Air at Historic Richmond Town’s Main Village Site!

Members of the Education Department at Historic Richmond Town hosted a Victorian Valentine Workshop on Saturday, February 2nd. There, visitors were treated to light refreshments in the beautifully restored Second County Courthouse, lovingly decorated for Valentine’s Day. After touring the farms, restored homes and working shops of the Main Village site, families gathered in the Visitor Center where they hand crafted paper Valentines with colorful graphics, copied from original examples in Historic Richmond Town’s curatorial collections.

Families were invited to create cards and notes to take home for those they love as well as to create and donate Valentines for the residences of Silver Lake Specialized Care Center. Director of Education and Public Programming, Felicity Beil, then traveled to the care facility to distribute the donated cards to the site’s live-in patients.

Share the love at Historic Richmond Town this holiday season. The Main Village site is open to the public Wednesday through Sunday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Guided tours leave from the Historical Museum on weekdays at 2:00 PM and at 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM on weekends. Visit www.HistoricRichmondTown.org for information on all upcoming events!
