Rope Making Workshop
Sunday, February 2
In the course of everyday life, rope and cordage tie our world together. Today, rope is a product made industrially at scale. Before the arrival of rope making factories, rope was made by twisting fibers together with simple machines and hand techniques. This workshop will explore the history of ropemaking, and provides hands-on activities including making hand cordage and a length of rope using a reproduction winding machine.
