Hispanic Heritage Month Program

Celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month at Historic Richmond Town

From the colonization of Staten Island to the present, people of Hispanic heritage have called Staten Island home. Historic Richmond Town is proud to chronicle the diverse histories of Staten Islanders throughout the human experience, and to pay tribute to the generations of Hispanic Americans who have positively influenced and enriched our borough, city, and country.

On Sunday, September 25, special programs and features will honor this history.

Hearth Cooking Demonstration at the Guyon-Lake-Tysen House. In the 1820s working kitchen, see and tase tortillas and sauce made with historic implements and processes by Historical Interpreters.

Demonstrations throughout the day, 12pm-4pm.

Performance by Calpulli Mexican Dance Company. Calpulli Mexican Dance Company's repertoire & performances are a celebration of Hispanic cultural legacy- past and current. Hear stories using the languages of dance, music, & the Mexican-American spirit to connect on universal messages of love & hope.

Performance at the Courtroom of the 3rd County Courthouse at 3pm.

All programs included with Open Village Admission.
