Calling all volunteers! Historic Richmond Town needs your help gathering Phragmites reed for a special project this summer.
On Saturday, May 28, from 10am-3pm, Historic Richmond Town staff and volunteers will remove quantities of the common reed from the outskirts of the village campus wetlands.
Phragmites is an invasive species, and removal ensures that that native plant and wildlife have the space they need to flourish and ensures greater access to nutrients in the natural habitat.
Wear your wet boots and join us for some necessary (and a little messy) work on the grounds.
Volunteers will meet at the 3rd County Courthouse Visitor Center at 10am.
