Celebrate our nation’s independence with old fashioned family fun! Visit Historic Richmond Town on July 4th for home-churned ice cream, a patriotic pinwheel parade, and an inspirational reading of the Declaration of Independence.
Talk with costumed interpreters inside the historic Guyon-Lake-Tysen farmhouse, and visit historic trades people in New York City’s living history village.
ACTIVITIES:
Make your own flags & Victorian paper pinwheels and marching in the Pinwheel Parade.
Visit with Artisans of the Historic Trades and learn about the creation of household necessities using period tools.
Re-create moments from American history with dramatic tableaux photos in the Historical Museum.
Meet George & Martha Washington, in-person!
Sign an oversized Declaration of Independence with a quill and ink.
Participate in a dramatic reading of the Declaration of Independence.
Churn ice cream the old-fashioned way.
The Science Behind Fireworks, a demonstration by The Unexcelled Firework Company (1888-1944).
