Cabin Fever Reliever
Candle Making
March 7, 1:00PM-2:30PM
Tired of being stuck inside on those blustery winter days? Come on down to Historic Richmond Town and get some relief from that cabin fever! Specialty crafting classes will be held at Historic Richmond Town in January, February, March and April that offer the perfect escape from those winter blues. Try your hand at the age-old art of candle making, craft a delicate paper Valentine by hand as the Victorians did, or carefully stitch a starry patterned quilt.
Derived from one of Historic Richmond Town’s most popular workshops, discover how your recent ancestors lit their homes and businesses before electricity. Make your own set of hand-dipped candle and participate in demonstrations of a variety of early lighting devices. A visit to two historic buildings illuminates the use of lighting in the context of daily life.
